Life Is More Beautiful with Flowers /

In many cases, timing is everything! And the worst is not when I hastily scribble an idea on a piece of paper or tightly close my eyes trying to remember the vision of a new idea when I can't right it down. The worst is when it pops up on weekend mornings and I could start working on it right away but no, I have chores and we have plans. This time I got extremely lucky: chores -✅, beer with friends - ✅ and I started working on all three (yeah, three!!!) ideas for the July challenge on Art Elements - Flowers.

⁕⚘⁕⚘⁕⚘⁕

I have a hoard of sea/beach glass and don't throw away even the smallest pieces. Such a shame to discard nature's labor! I'm always on the lookout for ideas how to utilize them and here is a new one - making leaves.

Four-Leaf Clover brooch 1&2

I got some bonus beads with one of my orders from PetrovnaLampwork that looked like elongated and slightly curved vases. At first, I was clueless but an idea started shaping and here it is :)

Sunflower /

This one was supposed to be a pendant but it surprised me and became a brooch :)

The Bouquet / Букет

I left this one without patina just to see how it gets oxidized naturally. I can always use the boiled egg method on it - the patina is softer and not harmful to stones or pearls.

And a last minute creation - this is a prototype of a pendant I made as a gift. I had two leftover pieces of sterling silver wire. So I cut the same length pieces of copper wire and made this. I will show the "real thing" in one of my next posts :)

The Prototype /

It all started with this picture of some work in progress for Instagram. The arrangement was unintentional but triggered all those ideas.

Oops, forgot it's a blog hop and here are the other amazing links :)

  3. Thank you for participating in the theme this month! I love your design sense and your skill at wire wrapping to capture these special pieces. I am especially drawn to the small vessel pieces inside of the wire - an object that holds something being held itself - just so cool! :)

    1. Thank you, Jill! I love the pins myself, also the way the brooch pin is attached makes it easy to use and hides the whole "stem"!

  9. Rozantia, interesting caging going on with the sea glass, I really like that approach. However, I LOVE your two pieces done with the lampwork beads, the Sunflower is kind of of Baroque and Art Deco combined :). Alysen

  10. You were able to create so much despite being busy! I dig those leaves ones and think I remember seeing a peek of them in Instagram. Great job with them. And, I can't wait to see the oxidized results too.

    1. Thank you, Hope! Yes, I posted a teaser in Instagram :) I've been oxidizing with boiled egg lately because the ammonia method I use needs supervision - it ends up with a greenish patina that some people don't like.
