Tools and Beads as Souveniers

I've been dreaming of traveling since I was a child. I wanted to roam around known and unknown places, fantasize about the life of people, looking down from the balcony or peeping through the window (that's exactly what I did when traveling by train),  to see artifacts thousands of years old that still astound the human mind. That's why, when we go on vacation, we always travel to the neighboring towns and villages or take picturesque routes off the highway. Well, I've traveled quite a bit (though not as much I'd love to) but I also flew over the Atlantic ocean twice - 26 years ago and this year. It was an exceptional trip with emotional reunions and a lot of mileage, so we have stories to tell. Of course, I had hobby-related plans. My first purchase at Michael's (beads, bead reamer, rubber hammer and findings) instantly got me a 40% discount coupon and thus I bought a wire straightening tool - already tested on thicker wire with good results! I also ordered OM Tara crimping pliers that I have read good reviews about by respected bloggers that even say they are foolproof. We'll see about that 😜

Family and friends surprised me with more jewelry stones and findings as well as beautiful boxes from India and Tibet. When we packed for the trip back, I put them all in plastic bags and into our shoes to save some space but all the time wondered what would custom's officers think about it 😜

I got these agate slabs in another craft store and the leopard jasper - in a Reiki store.

And here are some pictures from the trip:

    1. A real treasure of beads, isn't it? I posted more pictures from the trip on Facebook and will keep doing this for a couple of days more, we have too many pictures to sort through.

  2. Oh, I hope the tip was fabulous! Looks like you collected some beautiful treasures too. I've never seen that wire-straightening tool before. I may have to take a look at it the next time I'm in Michael's. I can't wait to see what you make with all the goodies!!

    1. The trip was fantastic! The treasures were somewhat unexpected and that made them even more sweet:) This wire straightener is good especially for thicker wire, where the nylon jaw pliers do not work so well. It was in the wire section, not with the other tools. Just a tip, because the guys at the cashier's desk couldn't help me with finding it. Luckily, we found a knowledgeable lady from custom's service.
