Flat suede cords work, too. Most customers didn't like them so I stopped using them for pendants.

Here is one more stash downsizing activity because I'm not sure about using these bead caps for finishing jewelry cords. Even though glue is supposed to last for years, I'm worried about the wear and tear. It's also possible that I'm just prejudiced.
Use a rubber based adhesive to glue leather to metal. It gives a flexible and strong bond.

ИзтриванеI completely understand about not trusting certain materials. I've begun to have to tell myself (remind myself) that NOTHING lasts forever, and everything breaks eventually. At least it makes me feel a slight bit better about putting things out there that might break, one day.

You're so right, Hope! I, too, am getting used to the thought that the pieces I make may not last forever. Let's face it, these earrings are definitely not heirloom pieces but as long as they make someone happy, I'm happy, too :)
