Coincidences with wire

Was it a coincidence that I treated myself to Cindy Wimmer's The missing Link Kindle Edition for Christmas? Or that I received a pair of bail making pliers, again for Christmas? Or that I was paired with Shalini Austin - a Wire Magician, for the Bead Peeps Swap'n'Hop? Or that a co-worker gave me a small steel anvil? Or that I finally found a Bulgarian site where I could get a steel hammer and patina? I don't think so :) I kept on making coiled wire beads in pairs (so that they are the same, ha-ha) as well as wire rose elements - connectors, charms, coils and buttons to use in my future designs. I can't find jewelry wire in the stores here with specific hardness characteristics or half-round, for instance, so my main concern is its softness. Coiling is one possibility to make it more durable and it also looks good. And, as much as I hated it, I had to use most of the elements I had made in this necklace, bracelet and earring set with a drop-shaped dragon veins agate pendant and 12-mm agate beads. I'm so proud of how I used the twisted wire rose as a clasp in the bracelet and also made the hook! Yes!

  1. I agree, it definitely was not coincidence , it was fate. You were meant to create these lovely pieces and your wire working skills are amazing. I love the wire roses and the use of those sweet, little leaf like bead caps was genus for they truly compliment the bracelet, creating a wonderful Rose Garden theme. Beautiful and oh so feminine.

    1. I'm working on that, Divya! I enjoyed making these a lot, even though my fungers hurt. I'm not even sure if I want any special tools yet :)

    1. Thank you, Shalini! Wire work looks obsessively fantastic. Of course, I'm not there yet but I'm trying. Like I said in my post, I first need to get some wire supplies with specific characteristics to be able to follow any tutorials, etc.
