Поръчаха ми колие с бронзова фигурка на птицечовка. Фигурката беше голяма и тежичка. Направих спирала от медна тел за основа и прикрепих фигурката към нея със щифтове. За да стане основата по-здрава, захванах отделните намотки с нещо като скоби. Ще се закачи на дълга верижка или корда. Още не знам дали поръчителката ще го одобри, тя искаше оплетена рамка. Но на мен така ми изглежда по-добре и затова бързам да го публикувам, в случай че се наложи да го променям :)
I got a custom order for a necklace with brass platypus figurine. It was quite heavy and pretty large. I made a swirl base with copper wire and attached the figurine on top with prongs. To give the base more stability, I connected the swirls with some sort of brackets. It will hang from a long chain or cord. I don't know if the customer will like it or not, because she wanted a woven frame. I think it looks better this way and am posting it before any eventual remodeling :)

I find the idea of the spiral bases intriguing with respect to setting 3D objects. I had set a sea shell on a rectangular base like this years ago but it was a light wieght object. Do they hold heavy objects without any glue? what did you client say?
ОтговорИзтриванеYou may notice that I have wrapped the wire around the legs first and only then set the prongs. Also, I used 18 G wire, I would've used 16, if my hand could handle it. The client is on vacation but I will certainly post an update when she's back.
